I just finished putting this kit in my 07er. It went in easy and started on the first kick. I let it run for a few minutes to check for leaks and I noticed that there was a puddle under it. I looked around and found where a mix of coolant and oil was coming out around the side case that I just bolted back on. I also found the it was blowing out of the breather hose. I took out the clutch side drain plug and it was the same a mix of oil and coolant. I looked in the sight glass on the engine side and it appears to be normal. What would cause this? Is it because the new gasket did not seal correctly or is there a bigger problem?

Make sure you line up the water pump shaft to the counter balance shaft!
Check gasket and o-ring around water pump outlet (just under cylinder with a transition sleeve.

I know this is an old post, but have a question. Getting ready to sell my 2006 trx450er with backup kicker and was wondering what parts, if any other then kicker plug, would be needed to remove kicker assembly and back to just electric start.

Just the plug to put back. All the other added parts can be removed and don't need to be replaced with anything in order for the e start to continue working, the are completely separate. That is as long as the e start is all still currently in tact.
