Ahhhh, Sunshine shining down amongst us on Friday. It actually got a little warm in the afternoon. Daffodils in bloom, smiles on faces and then the wind picked up and the clouds rolled in. How bad can 80% chance of rain throughout the night and into the morning really be? The roads were like a swollen river as we strolled in at 7am Saturday morning. I opted not to take pictures of the youth because of the pouring down rain. We were like ducks in a pond or pigs in a giant pig pen. The umbrella never left my hand and it was darn right cold and miserable. I was cussing out Johnny G by noon with his darn rain dances. A huge crowd was on hand to watch the demolition derby of 690 quads competing throughout the day.

The Super Mini class dominated the youth podium with Ryan Ratcliff, Jerry Welch and Joshua Merritt.

Michael Benson grabbed the U2 hole shot and win after coming back from a short retirement. I thought for sure he had his first overall in the bucket until he crashed right before the finish line. That single handedly gave Traci the overall with Benson and Michael Swift to follow.

Walker Fowler was missing in action due to his ankle injury at Georgia.

Angel Atwell got sucked up into a bottle neck on the first lap.

Cliff Beasley and Bryan Buckhannon keep their winning streak alive.

The 20+ C class had the biggest class in the morning race with 39 riders.

John Gallagher Sr. collected his first win of the season with a 7th place overall.

Adam McGill was on fire with back to back wins. He had a 2+ minute lead over Bill Ballance and William Yokley.

Ballance filled Adam’s ears full of mud up on the podium.

Phillip Wall of Tennessee won the Junior 22+ class with 55 entries. The largest turnout of the day.

Donnie Ockerman dominated the Pro Am class with a 3+ minute lead over Brian Wolf and Tyler Lenig. Donnie would go on to an 8th place overall finish.

Best afternoon amateur finish belonged to Dave Simmons with a 31st overall out of the Senior A (40+) class.

Two Pro veterans had respectable finishes. Matt Smiley placed 4th while Johnny Gallagher took an 8th place finish.
