Default Timing marks on a 660 raptor

Ok need some input, I am attempting to diagnose a non running raptor it seems like the timing is off when your cranking it over kinda spits and backfires but will not run, I pulled the timing plugs and attempted to line them up, I don't have a manual and i am aa bit confused as to what they look like I see two marks on the crank but nothing on the cam. I pulled the valve cover off and still am confused I see dot on the cam gear but where should they be in relation to the crank, also notice that before I took the V cover off it seemed to have very little compression, but after I can barely turn it over with a 1/2 rachet any clues ? also if the chain jumped does it cause bent valves like the YFZ's do
thanks o so much in advance
